------- Español sigue más abajo------ We hope you had an amazing summer filled with sunshine, friends, and time in nature. 🍁 Now that fall is here, we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to — and invite you to join us for the adventures ahead! 🍂 Sailing the Hudson TogetherLast weekend, we set sail on the Hudson River with our community, and it was unforgettable! Thanks to Clearwater, families had the opportunity to ride aboard a historic sloop, feel the wind in their hair, and view the river from an entirely new perspective. Before the sail, Riverkeeper and the Newburgh Clean Water Project shared information about what we need to do to protect our drinking water, the wildlife that lives in the river, and simple ways we can all help keep it clean and safe. If you missed it, don’t worry — it’s happening again on ⛵ Sunday, September 28! Join us for the last sail of the season and experience the magic of the Hudson River up close. We’re so grateful to everyone who made this program possible, especially the Open Space Institute’s Malcolm Gordon Fund and the Newburgh Riverfront Marina, which provided key support to bring this experience to our community. Hike to the highest point in Newburgh this SaturdayOutdoor Promise invites you to join us for the Quassaick Creek Fest, a free community celebration full of music, art, food, and nature — right in the heart of Newburgh at Crystal Lake. The festival runs until 4:00 PM, so there’s plenty to enjoy all afternoon. As part of the day, Outdoor Promise will lead a community hike up Snake Hill from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the highest point in Newburgh, where you’ll enjoy incredible views of the Hudson River and the surrounding landscape. A New Trail Opens: Schunnemunk MeadowsWe also celebrated the grand opening of the Schunnemunk Meadows Trail! This beautiful new 1.7-mile trail is the result of years of vision and collaboration, made possible by the Open Space Institute, NY State Parks, the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and dedicated cadets from West Point. Along the way, you’ll find wildflower meadows, sweeping views of the iconic Moodna Viaduct, and accessible loops designed for hikers of all ages and abilities. Outdoor Promise is excited to bring our community here later this fall to experience it firsthand. Looking ahead, we hope that one day Newburgh will connect directly to this trail through the Quassaick Creek Greenway, creating a continuous network of trails that links our city to the larger region. Outdoor Promise te invita a la Quassaick Creek Fest, un evento comunitario GRATUITO lleno de música, arte, comida y naturaleza en el corazón de Newburgh, en Crystal Lake. El festival se llevará a cabo hasta las 4:00 PM, así que habrá actividades para disfrutar toda la tarde.

Se abre un nuevo camino: Schunnemunk Meadows
¡También celebramos la gran inauguración del Camino Schunnemunk Meadows!
Este hermoso y nuevo camino de 1.7 millas es el resultado de años de visión y colaboración, hecho posible por el Open Space Institute, los Parques Estatales de Nueva York, la Comisión del Parque Interestatal Palisades y los dedicados cadetes de West Point. A lo largo del camino, encontrará prados de flores silvestres, vistas panorámicas del emblemático viaducto Moodna y circuitos accesibles diseñados para excursionistas de todas las edades y habilidades.
Outdoor Promise se complace en traer a nuestra comunidad aquí a finales de este otoño para que lo experimente de primera mano. De cara al futuro, esperamos que algún día Newburgh se conecte directamente a este sendero a través de la vía verde Quassaick Creek, creando una red continua de senderos que conecte nuestra ciudad con la región en general.
